Course authority
The September 3, 2026 syllabus controls assignment requirements, dates, and grading. Canvas remains the submission and grading location. The lecture stories preserve the original slide text and sequence; presenter notes are not included.
Lecture stories
Weeks 1 and 2 use the instructor's final Lecture I and 44-slide Week 2 decks. Week 3 uses the September 9 Small Town Feel deck. Weeks 4–15 use the September 3 complete-semester release. The learning library includes 697 slides across 15 sessions. December 9 is the special final-presentation session.
Instructor photographs
The farm cover photograph is the exact image from Lecture I, slide 34. Project pages use field photographs supplied in Lecture I. A photograph provides context; it does not establish ownership, site condition, or a surveyed boundary.

- OpenStreetMap contributors: street basemaps. Aerial imagery uses Esri World Imagery and its credited contributors.
MapLibre renders the maps. Turf performs client-side spatial calculations. Exported GeoJSON uses longitude, latitude in EPSG:4326. See the mapping field dictionary for calculated-field meanings and null handling.
Visual dictionary
Organization-specific definitions link to the U.S. Census Bureau, OMB, USDA ERS, USDA Rural Development, VDOT/FHWA, HUD, and CNU. Each definition identifies its purpose and geographic unit. The interactive transect is an original teaching model based on the CNU / Center for Applied Transect Studies design framework. It is not an official zoning map or a development standard.
Practice and client data
The value-per-acre practice dataset is fictional and is labeled throughout the tool and its exports. Use the instructor's parcel and assessment data for your assignment. The full instructor conservation package is not bundled here; students can add it as GeoJSON when supplied. Existing student reports and client drafts are not added to the public resource library automatically.
Team tools and Google Sheets
Polls, forms, and responses are saved on the course site. A creator can connect a Google Sheet with a private CSV import link. Google controls import refresh timing. The site does not obtain editing access to other files in a student's Google account.
